Safety solutions
The servo
The Mitsubishi servo system supports safety drive as standard.
Can be linked with AC servo MELSERVO-J4 series
MELSEC iQ-R series can be linked with AC servo MELSERVO-J4 via CC-Link IE Field Network. It is possible to receive safety signal data of the safety CPU via the CC-Link IE Field Network connected to the RD77GF by combining the safety CPU with the simple motion module RD77GF. * 1Therefore, there is no need to wire hard wires from the safety remote I / O to the MR-D30 functional safety unit for each axis.
STO and SS1 realized with standard servo amplifier functions (SIL2, Category 3 PLd)
The MELSERVO-J4 series (MR-J4 series) supports IEC / EN 61800-5-2 STO (Safe Torque Off) and SS1 (Safe Stop 1) * 2 as standard.
You can easily build a device safety system. (SIL2)-It
is not necessary to turn off the control circuit power supply of the servo amplifier, so the restart time is shortened.
Also, there is no need to return to origin.
-Eliminates the need for an electromagnetic contactor to prevent accidental motor restart. * 2
* 3. STO is a function to turn off the output torque by shutting off the power source inside the servo amplifier.
The MR-J4 series servo amplifier does not require an electromagnetic contactor to meet the requirements of the STO, but install an electromagnetic contactor to avoid short-circuit failure of the servo amplifier and the risk of electric shock to the operator.
Extended safety function with motion controller and safety signal unit (SIL2, Category 3 PLd)
The Q17nDSCPU motion controller supports the safety signal monitoring that monitors the status of dual input / output signals, as well as the shutdown function (STO, SS1), stop monitoring (SOS (Safe Operating Stop), SS2 (Safe Stop 2)), and speed monitoring ( It comes standard with SLS (Safety-limited speed)), Safe Speed Monitor (SSM) and Safe Brake Control (SBC).
The safety input signal can be monitored using the motion CPU (Q17nDSCPU motion controller), sequencer CPU, and safety signal module Q173DSXY.
PLC CPU | QnUD (E) (H) CPU |
---|---|
Motion CPU | Q173DSCPU / Q172DSCPU |
Safety signal unit | Q173DSXY (Up to 3 units can be installed) * 4 |
Maximum number of input points | 60 points x 2 systems |
Maximum output points | 36 points x 2 systems |
Score | Signal content | |
---|---|---|
input | 20 | Safety signal for user |
output | 1 | Power cutoff signal * 5 |
11 | Safety signal for user |
* 5. Safety signal monitoring function Normal: ON Abnormal: OFF
The motion CPU and PLC CPU monitor that the motor speed does not exceed the safe speed.
Improved safety level with functional safety unit MR-D30
Improve safety level by directly wiring safety input signal (SIL3, Category 4 PLe)
The safety level can be improved by directly wiring the safety input signal to the MR-D30 functional safety unit.
Safety functions can be easily implemented by setting parameters even for SIL3 and Category 4 safety level requirements.
Also, since the safety function is executed on the MR-D30 side, it is possible to extend the safety function without depending on the safety controller.
<Improvement of safety level by wiring to functional safety unit>
Reduced wiring via SSCNETⅢ / H (SIL2, Category 3 PLd)
By combining the MR-J4-B-RJ servo amplifier with the MR-D30 functional safety unit, safety signals from the Q17nDSCPU motion controller can be input via SSCNET III / H. * 6
This eliminates the need for wiring the power cutoff cable (STO cable) between the controller and the servo amplifier, which was required in the past.
Furthermore, since the safety function is executed on the MR-D30 side, the man-hour for designing the ladder program on the controller side can be greatly reduced.
Also, MR-D30 can be mounted only on axes that require a safety function.
